A Letter to Lumen Mundi Customers
Dear Friends,
As you know, Lumen Mundi has always been proud to share with you that the majority of our beautiful, high-quality products come from Italy, but, given the rapid spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Italy, we are seeing significant challenges in ensuring timely delivery of shipments from our factories. Many are presently closed, others are under restricted operating hours, and still, others are “day by day” not knowing if the government will mandate they close or not; they learn each night, based on announcements made by the government. Additionally, flights have become problematic (and our items are usually flown into the US!) so we presently have our logistics team working on trucking the items to London and flying from there. It’s, for sure, presenting some logistical challenges and some stock/inventory issues – and will continue to do so at least until early April, when we are hopeful the ban will be lifted in Italy!
Lumen Mundi continues to monitor the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and is considering all options, and developing contingency plans where possible to ensure we can continue to support our customer orders and requests, but ultimately we must comply with the restrictions of the local and national governments, in Italy, the European Union and the United States. We will continue to keep you posted as we learn more, but, in the meantime, we are asking for your patience with some supply chain issues we are currently experiencing.
We pray for all those impacted and ask you to do the same. We pray for containment and pray for government officials and leaders who are tasked with making critical decisions that affect so many. We also pray for the doctors, nurses and research professionals. May they all know peace and protection. As Pope Francis offered a prayer to the Virgin Mary yesterday, may we seek her protection and “the entire world to the protection of the Mother of God, as a sign of salvation and hope” during the ongoing coronavirus emergency.
Please don’t forget to pray to the Healing Saints, John of God, and Mary and use the Serenity Prayer for solace during these troubled times. Should you need stock on any of these items, for you personally or for your customers, please reach out to our office or your sales representative as Lumen Mundi remains open for normal operations, with healthy and safe team members; and we are committed to our ministry more than ever during this time of crisis to ensure the protection, safety, and blessings for those most in need.
