What is a Door Rosary?

Our Saint Benedict Door Rosary is one of our most unique items. With 23 mm beads, the Door Rosary is designed to fit around most door knobs. It is intended to be Placed on the doorknob of the entry door of a room. It like many traditional Saint Benedict items is meant to bless the room and protect it and those in it from evil. Our Door Rosary Features a Saint Benedict Medal as the Rosary center. Known to some as the “Devil-chasing Medal,” the Saint Benedict Medal is one of the earliest and most honored medals in many Christian Faiths.

There is a lot of Symbolism on the Saint Benedict Medal.

The Front:

Features Saint Benedict holding a cross and his rules of monasteries. Behind him a cup with “Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti” which means “The cross of Holy Father Benedict” to the left. To the right is a Dove. These are a symbol of the story of angry monks who attempted to poison Benedict. When he made the sign of the cross over the poison cup it shattered, and a dove flew off with poisoned bread.

Around Benedict reads “Eius in obitu nostro praesentia muniamur!” which translates to "May we be strengthened by his presence in the hour of our death" - Saint Benedict is the Patron Saint of a Happy Death.

The Back:

A Cross in the center inscribed Vertically with “CSSML” and Horizontally “NDSMD” These are symbols for the phrase that translates to “May the holy cross be my light! May the dragon never be my overlord”

Around the Cross there are the letters “CAPB” for “Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti” which means “The cross of Holy Father Benedict”

Encircled around the edge of the Medal has:

Symbol Meaning
Pax (Always located on top) Peace
VRS Begone Satan
NSMV Never Tempt me with your vanities
SMQL What you offer me is Evil
IVB Drink the poison yourself!
