Pentecost Sunday

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.” Acts 2:1

The glorious Season of Easter draws to a close this blessed Sunday as we joyfully approach the Feast of Pentecost. On this sacred day, we commemorate the wondrous descent of the Holy Spirit upon us and the Apostles, who were gathered in the upper room in the holy city of Jerusalem. It is a momentous occasion that marks the birth of the Church, heralding a new era of faith and divine grace.

May the Feast of Pentecost be a time of spiritual awakening and renewal for each of us, as we fervently pray for the Holy Spirit to fill us with His grace, wisdom, and fortitude. May our lives be transformed by the power of the Spirit, enabling us to fulfill the great commission entrusted to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. With hearts aflame and minds enlightened, let us go forth and be witnesses of the Resurrection, proclaiming the saving message of Christ to all who seek solace, salvation, and eternal life. Amen.

The Feasts Of Love: Pentecost, Trinity Sunday, Corpus Christi

The Feasts Of Love: Pentecost, Trinity Sunday, Corpus Christi

After the celebration of the Feast of Pentecost, we continue to meditate on the great mystery of God through the feast of Trinity Sunday. The Holy Spirit makes the work of the Trinity for our salvation present among us: The Spirit reminds us of what Jesus taught and reveals to us the Father.

We are made in God’s image and likeness. We reflect the life of God, and the Trinity shows us what the life of God is like: a loving communion. God is a communion of Persons who is Love itself. And that Love gives life, not just within the Trinity and all its “begettings” and “proceedings,” but outside, as well.

On the Thursday after Trinity Sunday we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi, where we solemnly commemorate the institution of the Holy Eucharist. The Eucharist reminds us of how closely God wants to be to us and remain with us. He remains with us not just as an abstract idea, but in a real, tangible, physical sense.

While these Feasts celebrate different themes, they come together with God’s life-giving love. It’s that love that’s embodied in the Sacred Heart, in the Trinity, and the Eucharist. The season of these feasts brings a beautiful message for all to see and feel the glory and mystery of God.

We pray that love is felt by you during these feasts and throughout the year.

Yours in Christ,
